Educating children every single day.
The RePLASTICS Vision
and meet Rebecca Lee
RePLASTICS is an educational platform made by a passionate high school student: Rebecca Lee. Rebecca loves being able to educate others about prevalent issues to help spread awareness and fight against a continuing problem! She is especially passionate about the issue of plastics and the environment, especially since so many recyclable plastics are either not recycled properly or at all. That is exactly why she decided to make a platform to teach kids about plastics recycling to help them become aware at an early age.
Rebecca is more than aware of the complex view on plastics recycling, especially considering the 7 different types to consider as well as a certain method to recycle properly. She aims to be able to make all of that information easy to understand. Rebecca also aims to make learning fun and therefore more memorable, especially with a crucial topic like this. To accomplish this goal, she made various coloring pages and colorful flyers to distribute at local libraries, a community extended school enrichment center, and to several elementary schools. Through RePLASTICS, Rebecca hopes to be able to make this important information more accessible to everyone through a public website!
Let's fight against plastics pollution, climate change, and environmental harm.
About Rebecca Lee
Thanks for stopping by!
Hi! I am Rebecca Lee, a current senior in high school. I have a passion for community involvement and public education. I strongly believe that environmental education about plastics is too overlooked, especially when plastics are one of the leading causes of climate change and even major human health complications. Because of this, I created RePLASTICS!
I am an avid news anchor and staff member of my school's television network: CHTV. I deeply enjoy being able to deliver news to my school and I have also written environmental stories about plastics on the CHTV website. I am also a proud founder and president of my school's very own Red Cross club, where we embark in various humanitarian projects that have large-scale impact. I am also the president of my school's Mock Trial club, where I introduce and mentor my club members in taking part in a real criminal/civil trial simulation. Outside of school, I love taking lots of pictures of sunsets, playing with my adorable dog, and spending time with family.
