International Humanitarian Law Campaign
As an avid volunteer in the American Red Cross, I launched an International Humanitarian Law campaign designed for the 2023 theme: the impact of armed conflict on the environment and how the law protects it. I began my community engagement by presenting about this topic with my campaign team during a fair in the library (left). Everyone was encouraged to take part in an art contest to draw how the environment is impacted by armed conflict (center), which everyone seemed to be very engaged in (right). My campaign reached over 5,300 people and I was invited to the International Humanitarian Law Summit in Washington DC (bottom)!

International Humanitarian Law Campaign Recap
I had the honor of gathering a team to campaign about International Humanitarian Law to over 5,300 people. Our campaign got broadcasted to our entire student body and we interacted with so many people during the library event! I am incredibly grateful that I got to attend the International Humanitarian Law Summit in Washington DC, where I met other Red Cross leaders, youth, and even visit the Pentagon to discuss the importance of International Humanitarian Law with military attorneys. Below, you can also view the National Youth IHL Symposium that I led!
Hamilton County Household Hazardous Waste Center
As I interned for the Hamilton County HHW Center, I was excited to be able to spread public education about plastics recycling and recycling in general to make this information more accessible. In addition to flyers, my creations were posted on the center's social media to further expand outreach.
Carmel Climate Vulnerability Workshop
As a member of the Carmel Climate Advisory Committee, I was invited to attend the Carmel Climate Vulnerability Workshop, where I alongside other city leaders discussed climate trends in Carmel and different city-wide factors that impact climate change. The workshop included the discussion of how climate change can impact the economy, nature, infrastructure, and general society. Different strategies to combat the climate crisis were planned as we collaborated in breakout groups. The workshop took place at Feinstein's of Hotel Carmicheal right in the heart of downtown Carmel.
Johns Hopkins Global Health Leaders Conference
I am incredibly grateful that I got the opportunity to be a live presenter at the Johns Hopkins Global Health Leaders Conference. I was able to present about the global plastic crisis and how this poses a threat toward human health all around the world. It was intriguing to find these unique connections through research! In addition to presenting live, my presentation video is posted on the Global Health Leaders Conference Youtube Channel.
International Forum on Research Excellence
In November of 2023, I had the honor of attending the International Forum on Research Excellence (IFoRE) powered by Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Honor Society. This conference was held in Long Beach, California. I presented my research about environmental justice and how socioeconomic factors can heavily impact the state of the environment and human health throughout the United States.
